[ Final Track - Overview ]

Our group finally came to a decision on a track for the music video:

[ Track ]

[ Rinôçérôse - Cubicle ]

This track is less upbeat and jolly than our group was previously aiming for, but the group unanimously decided that this was the track that we wanted to make a music video to. The dirty distorted electric guitar sounds reinforce the lyrics and the energy the song has is uplifting and lively. Although the song already has a music video, the song is not very well known at all and is by a relatively unknown french band, so is still applicable.

[ Music Video ]

Because of the song's energetic feel, and its feeling of entrapment and confinement, I was thinking of having a small room, in greyscale colours with certain things in bright, saturated colours like ties or neon face paint or possibly UV lights?! I would also like to see lots of stop motion and fast-mo action, maybe someones head boggling around but sped up really fast to make them seem like they're going insane because of the entrapment. Since the song starts off relatively calmly but still in the same style, this encourages narrative to be built into the video, but still doesnt force anything, opening up the groups options much more than otherwise. The group was thinking about possibly long corridors, maybe things like an abandoned mental institute, and trying to escape. These obviously are simple ideas, but are springboards for the final idea to be arranged by the group later.

[ Shots ]

Due to the nature of the song, I think that lots of abstract footage would be fitting. I imagine that lots of abstract close ups and explanatory long shots would work well, in addition to lots of high and low angles. I don't think that moving camera would work well in this instance as it would pile too much onto the visuals.

[ Actors ]

I imagine the actors to be young, rock/indie fans who are eccentric and loud. Possible actors include the three male members of my group (Sameer, Josh and myself) and one other person so far called Jon Fox who is a good friend of Sameer and mine and has already expressed his interest in taking part.

[ Locations ]

One proposed location is the North Sanctuary in Hampstead Heath, which used to be part of a mental health home, and is supposedly open to the public during the day and permission is easily granted. We are taking a recce of this site in the near future to gauge its usefulness as a location. It is supposed to have long corridors and confined spaces, but as it is outdoors, I am sceptical.

[ Album Cover ]

The album cover might consist again of greyscale and then saturated colours on specific body parts. I would assume neon coloured but grungey brushes to contrast with the greyscale and would adopt a stark font that will really stand out against the background image.
